A Saskatchewan man is facing charges after Vegreville RCMP say a suspect fired a shot when officers responded to a report of a stolen truck located in that community. It happened last Sunday evening after a short pursuit and the truck got stuck in a ditch near Highway 16A. Police say a lone man got out of the vehicle with a rifle and shot once in the air. An officer used his taser and the suspect was taken into custody. Along with the rifle, police seized a knife and a bow and arrows. The truck had been reported stolen from Mervin, Saskatchewan earlier in the day. 21 year old Bird Twobears of Sturgeon Lake First Nation is facing 16 criminal Code offences including Resisting Arrest, Flight from Police and Pointing a Firearm. He was remanded into custody and is in court in Vegreville on February 10th.
