Mayoral candidate Cynthia Block has unveiled her plan for business and economic development which she says prioritizes collaboration, innovation and providing a competitive edge for local businesses. Her plan includes introducing a small business tax subclass and streamlining services for businesses by creating a Business Connection Hub, to help with navigating regulatory and permitting processes. She also supports the creation of grocery stores in under-served areas. Another facet of the plan is to establish a land development process that includes building relationships with Indigenous economic development agencies.
