The people who vote to determine the make-up of the weekly C-H-L Top 10 couldn’t ignore the Saskatoon Blades any longer.
The Bridge City Bunch make their first appearance of the season on the list in ninth spot with their 10-2-1 record. Only four teams in the C-H-L have a points percentage of better than .800. The Blue and Gold are on the road tomorrow, traveling to Langley and Friday’s start of their five-game B-C Division road trip against the Vancouver Giants. Two other W-H-L teams remain in the C-H-L Top 10 – Everett in fourth and Prince George in seventh spot. Following is the news release from the C-H-L…..
2024-25 CHL Top-10 Rankings: Week 5
Today, the Canadian Hockey League (CHL) announced the Week 5 edition of its CHL Top-10 Rankings for the 2024-25 season.
With nine victories over their last 10 games, the Moncton Wildcats of the Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) rank first for a third straight week. Holding the best point percentage in the CHL at .875, the Windsor Spitfires of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) are up to their highest ranking of the season at No. 2. Meanwhile, the Drummondville Voltigeurs of the QMJHL moved up to third as they remain one of only three teams in the CHL with at least 11 wins this season.
Among some of the other biggest movers and shakers was the Everett Silvertips of the Western Hockey League (WHL) and London Knights of the OHL, who both climbed up the rankings to No. 4 and No. 5 respectively after going undefeated last week. Additionally, as one of only four teams in the CHL with a point percentage greater than .800, the Saskatoon Blades of the WHL are making their Top-10 debut of the 2024-25 season in ninth.
The next rankings will be released the week of November 4, following the sixth week of regular season action in all three member leagues of the CHL.
CHL Top-10 Rankings – Week 5
1. Moncton Wildcats (QMJHL): With three wins in a row over the weekend by a combined score of 15-6, the Moncton Wildcats (11-2-1-0) continue to hold down the No. 1 for what is a third straight week. The Wildcats are one of four teams across the CHL to have won at least 11 games this season. Moncton is averaging 4.86 goals per game, which ranks second in the CHL, behind only the Windsor Spitfires (5.25). This past week, the Wildcats enjoyed stellar performances from goaltender Jacob Steinman (8-2-1-0 record, 1.96 GAA, .935 SV%, 1 SO in 12 GP) Calgary Flames prospect Étienne Morin (4G-13A in 12 GP), and 2025 NHL Draft prospect Caleb Desnoyers (6G-8A in 10 GP), the latter of which was named to the CHL’s roster for the 2024 CHL USA Prospects Challenge presented by Kubota Canada. Named the Videotron Player of the Week in the QMJHL, Steinman turned aside 65 of the 68 shots he faced over his two starts last week – putting together 34-save and 31-save performances in victories against Drummondville and Shawinigan. Meanwhile, Morin extended his point streak to 11 games with points in all three Wildcats victories last week. The Wildcats defenceman has only been held off the scoresheet just once this season. Finally, Desnoyers collected three goals and an assist over his last two contests, which include scoring the game-winning goal against both the Cataractes and Tigers this past weekend. This week, the Wildcats will hope to build upon their strong run over the last couple of weeks when they face Saint John, Val-d’Or, and Halifax.

2. Windsor Spitfires (OHL): Currently riding a five-game winning streak, having won their pair of games against Owen Sound (7-5) and No.8-ranked Niagara (2-1) last week, the Windsor Spitfires (10-1-1-0) have made another big jump in the Top-10 rankings – this time to second. The Spitfires are the only team in the CHL with just one regulation loss to their name in 2024-25. They continue to be the highest-scoring team in the CHL, thanks to their current 5.25 goals per game average. Windsor also leads the CHL with a .875 point percentage through their first 12 games of the 2024-25 campaign. Among the big performances for the Spitfires over the last week came from 2025 NHL Draft prospect Jack Nesbitt (9G-6A in 12 GP) and goaltender Joey Costanzo (9-0-0-0 record, 1.89 GAA, .936 SV%, 1 SO in 9 GP). Nesbitt recorded his first career OHL hat-trick against the Attack, before scoring the game-winner in the Spitfires’ 2-1 victory over the IceDogs. As for Constanzo, the 19-year-old made 32 saves and gave up just one goal to the No.8-ranked IceDogs on Saturday. Costanzo is the only CHL netminder with a perfect 9-0-0-0 this season. His nine straight victories in 2024-25 mark the longest undefeated run to start a season by a Spitfires goalie since Michael Leighton went 8-0-2 to start the 2000-01 campaign. Costanzo also currently leads the OHL in GAA (1.89), SV% (.936), and wins (9). Meanwhile, although he had a quiet week relative to some of his peers, Los Angeles Kings prospect Liam Greentree (7G-19A in 11 GP) picked up a point in both games to extend his point streak to 11 games to start the 2024-25 season. Greentree’s 26 points rank tied for first among all skaters in the CHL along with Michael Misa (Saginaw Spirit). Greentree has also collected an assist in a CHL-best nine straight games. This week, Windsor will look to maintain its place atop the OHL standings when they face the Greyhounds and Firebirds for a set of three games.

3. Drummondville Voltigeurs (QMJHL): Although they couldn’t find a way to defeat the No.1-ranked Wildcats (5-1) on Friday night, the Drummondville Voltigeurs (11-3-0-1) closed out the weekend with victories against Saint John (4-2) and Blainville-Boisbriand (5-2) to jump up a couple of spots to third. Drummondville is one of only two teams in the QMJHL to have won 11 games, and one of just four to have achieved the feat in the CHL during the 2024-25 season. The Voltigeurs are also allowed only 2.27 goals per game, which is the lowest mark in the CHL this season. Over the last week, captain Luke Woodworth (3G-19A in 13 GP), 20-year-old forward Sam Oliver (13G-6A in 15 GP), and goaltender Riley Mercer (8-2-0-0 record, 1.80 GAA, .948 SV%, 1 SO in 10 GP)put together another set of strong performances. Woodworth registered consecutive two-point outings in Drummondville’s victories over the Armada and Sea Dogs. The Voltigeurs’ captain continues to lead the QMJHL and CHL with 19 assists this season. Oliver had points in all three Drummondville contests last week, and he now has recorded four multi-point games over his last six outings. Meanwhile, although one of them came in a loss, Mercer registered 35+ saves in each one of his starts last week. The latter included a 42-save performance in the Voltigeurs’ 5-2 victory over Blainville-Boisbriand. Mercier’s .948 save percentage continues to be the best of any CHL goalie this season. This week, Mercier and the Voltigeurs will look to string some more victories together when they face the Phoenix, Saguenéens, and Tigres.

4. Everett Silvertips (WHL): Having gone a perfect 4-0 last week, the Everett Silvertips (12-2-0-0) made the biggest jump of any club in this week’s CHL Top-10 Rankings – moving up six spots to No. 4. Powered by their current six-game winning streak, the Silvertips are the only 12-win club in the CHL right now. They have won nine of their last 10 games, and they hold the second-best point percentage in the CHL at .857. Everett is averaging a WHL-best 4.79 goals per game while giving up only 2.36 goals per game (which ranks second in the CHL behind the Voltigeurs). Part of the latter can be attributed to the excellent play of goaltender Jesse Sanche (9-2-0-0 record, 1.76 GAA, .932 SV%, 1 SO in 11 GP), who was named the WHL Goalie of the Week. Sanche was a perfect 4-0 in four starts last week, posting a 1.43 goals-against average and a .938 save percentage over that stretch. Sanche leads the WHL in wins (9), GAA (1.76), and SV% (.932). Meanwhile, 15-year-old rookie Landon DuPont (4G-12A in 14 GP) continues his impressive start to his WHL career. He’s up to 16 points on the year, which ranks first among WHL rookies and rookie defencemen in the CHL. 2025 NHL Draft prospect Carter Bear (12G-9A in 14 GP), who was named to the CHL’s roster for the 2024 CHL USA Prospects Challenge, had registered five goals and an assist in Everett’s victories over Wenatchee and Edmonton. Specifically, against the Oil Kings, Bear registered his first career WHL hat trick. Bear’s 12 goals rank tied for first in the WHL, while his 21 points place him among the league’s top-five scorers. Having extended his point streak to eight games, 20-year-old Tyler MacKenzie (12G-10A in 14 GP) continued his strong start as he now shares the WHL lead for goals (12) and points (22). This week, the Silvertips will begin a three-game road trip with games against the Wild and Americans.

5. London Knights (OHL): Having extended their winning streak to four in a row, following victories over Brantford (4-3 OT), Saginaw (4-1), and Sarnia (5-2), the London Knights (8-4-0-0) have climbed their way back into the top five of these rankings. Thanks to their four consecutive victories, the Knights have soared up the OHL overall standings to sit just two points shy of Niagara for third. Over the last week, the Knights’ best and brightest continued to shine for the club during their three victories, led by San Jose Sharks defenceman Sam Dickinson (7G-8A in 10 GP) who was named the Cogeco OHL Player of the Week. Dickinson collected seven points (2G-5A), including a pair of game-winning goals, during London’s three wins. Dickinson’s seven goals and 15 points now both rank second among defencemen in the OHL. Meanwhile, Toronto Maple Leafs prospect Easton Cowan (6G-4A in 8 GP) has now registered a point in all eight games he’s appeared in this season for the Knights, extending his regular-season point streak to 44 straight contests. 20-year-old forward Landon Sim (3G-3A in 7 GP) also put together a strong week, tallying three goals and five points in three games. The latter included a two-goal effort against the Sting, which saw Sim get credited with the game-winner. This week, the Knights will look to continue their climb up the OHL standings and CHL Top-10 Rankings when they welcome the Greyhounds to London before they travel north to face the Attack on Sunday.

6. Rimouski Océanic (QMJHL): With two losses over their last three games (1-1-0-1), the Rimouski Océanic (9-4-0-1) have fallen a few places to find themselves in sixth this week. To start the week, the Océanic saw a CHL-best seven-game winning streak snapped by the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies thanks to a 6-2 defeat. From there, Rimouski rallied the following night to score a 3-0 victory against those same Huskies, before falling 5-4 in a shootout to the Foreurs on Saturday. Although they lost a pair of games last week, the Océanic have earned a point in nine of their last 10 games (8-1-0-1) and still appear to be trending in the right direction. In their lone victory, 2026 NHL Draft prospect William Lacelle (5-0-0-1 record, 1.97 GAA, .928 SV%, 2 SO in 6 GP) was excellent, making 30 saves for his second shutout of the season. Lacelle is one of only two goalies in the CHL with two shutouts this season (along with Saint John’s Charles-Édward Gravel). Vegas Golden Knights prospect Mathieu Cataford (8G-17A in 12 GP) continues to lead the QMJHL with 25 points, which is one point shy of the CHL leaders Michael Misa (Saginaw Spirit) and Liam Greentree (Windsor Spitfires). Cataford, who was held off the scoresheet for the first time this season in the Océanic’s 6-2 loss to the Huskies, collected four points (1G-3A) in Rimouski’s other two games last week. Additionally, Anaheim Ducks prospect Alexandre Blais (6G-10A in 12 GP) continued his strong start to the 2024-25 campaign, as he started a three-game point streak over the last week. Blais has collected a point in 11 of his 12 games this season. This week, the Océanic will begin a six-game homestand with contests against the Titan and Cataractes this weekend.

7. Prince George Cougars (WHL): Having split their contests against the Royals last week, scoring a win on Friday before falling in a shootout the following night, the Prince George Cougars (7-4-2-2) are down a few places in seventh this week. Although Prince George is only 4-3-1-2 over their past 10 games, they have earned a point in six of their last eight. Over their two meetings with the Royals this past weekend, Minnesota Wild prospect Riley Heidt (8G-12A in 11 GP) was in fine form – registering three goals and four assists. Thanks to his big weekend, Heidt became the first Cougars player in franchise history to reach 300 career points. Meanwhile, 20-year-old forward Borya Valis (6G-15A in 13 GP) recorded a pair of multi-point games as he continues to rank among the WHL’s top-five scorers with 21 points. Valis also has points in seven of his last eight contests. Additionally, Washington Capitals Terik Parascak (6G-10A in 11 GP) extended his point streak to four games, as he has tallied three multi-point outings over that stretch. 2025 NHL Draft prospect Joshua Ravensbergen (7-1-2-1 record, 3.13 GAA, .901 SV% in 11 GP), who was named to the CHL’s roster for the 2024 CHL USA Prospects Challenge last week, registered his third consecutive 30+ save performance to secure his seventh win of the season. This week, the Cougars will welcome the reigning WHL champion Moose Jaw Warriors to the CN Centre before making their way to Kamloops to face the Blazers.

8. Niagara IceDogs (OHL): With only one loss to their name over the last seven days, the latter of which came against the No.2-ranked Spitfires (2-1), the Niagara IceDogs (9-3-0-0) have moved up a spot to No. 8. With a pair of 4-3 victories over Oshawa and Sarnia, the IceDogs hold the third-best point percentage in the OHL at .750. Over the last week, Niagara enjoyed the return of goaltender Owen Flores (6-1-0-0 record, 2.48 GAA, .928 SV% in 7 GP), who registered 30-save and 37-save performances in his two starts. Flores’ 2.48 GAA and .928 SV% continue to rank among the top five in the OHL. Meanwhile, Winnipeg Jets prospect Kevin He (11G-10A in 12 GP) registered three goals and an assist over Niagara’s three contests last week. He continued to rank among the top five in the OHL with 11 goals and 21 points in 2024-25. With points in seven of his last nine games, including in each of the IceDogs’ three victories over the past seven days, Seattle Kraken prospect Andrei Loshko (8G-9A in 12 GP) continues his strong play with his new CHL club. Loshko sits second on the team with 17 points, while his eight goals ranked tied for second on the team alongside 2026 NHL Draft prospect Ryan Rooebroeck (8G-5A in 12 GP). This week, the IceDogs will travel up to Peterborough for a game against the Petes, before returning to Niagara to kick start a four-game homestand.

9. Saskatoon Blades (WHL): As one of only six teams in the CHL to have reached 10 wins so far this season, the Saskatoon Blades (10-2-1-0) are making their debut this week in the CHL Top-10 Rankings at No. 9. With seven victories of their last 10 contests, the Blades are one of only four teams in the CHL to have a point percentage greater than .800. During the previous seven days, the Blades edged the Thunderbirds 5-1 and narrowly beat the Wheat Kings 4-3 in overtime. Leading the way for the Blades in both of those victories was Toronto Maple Leafs prospect Brandon Lisowsky (4G-6A in 7 GP), who extended his point streak to six games by registering a pair of multi-point outings last week. Lisowsky has also scored a goal in four of his last five contests. Meanwhile, Nashville Predators prospect Tanney Molendyk (3G-6A in 7 GP) has enjoyed a good start to his year as he recorded points in five of his seven games so far in 2024-25, including in each of the Blades’ wins last week. Acquired from the Victoria Royals this off-season, centreman Ben Riche (9G-12A in 13 GP) leads the team in scoring with 21 points, placing him one point shy of the WHL leaders Nathan Behm (Kamloops Blazers) and Tyler MacKenzie (Everett Silvertips). Riche has been held off the scoresheet just once so far, and he has tallied four multi-point games over his last five outings. Columbus Blue Jackets prospect Evan Gardner (6-2-1-0 record, 2.43 GAA, .921 SV%, 1 SO in 9 GP) turned aside 60 of 64 shots last week to secure both victories. Gardner’s 2.23 GAA and .921 SV% both rank among the top five goaltenders in the WHL. This week, Saskatoon will kick start a five-game road trip in British Columbia with games against the Giants and Royals this weekend.

10. Brampton Steelheads (OHL): With just two wins over their last six games, the Brampton Steelheads (6-4-1-0) have fallen down the rankings to No. 10 this week. Over the last seven days, the Steelheads dropped a Friday night contest to the Barrie Colts 6-4, before bouncing back in a big way in a 10-1 victory over the Storm on Sunday. Both games marked the return of 2025 NHL Draft prospect Jack Ivankovic (5-1-0-0 record, 2.14 GAA, .929 SV%, 1 SO in 7 GP) to Brampton’s lineup. Although he suffered his first loss of the season against the Colts, Ivankovic was excellent when facing the Storm on Sunday, stopping 39-of-40 shots to secure his fifth win of the season. Ivankovic’s performance came on the heels of being named to the CHL’s roster for the 2024 CHL USA Prospects Challenge alongside his Steelheads’ teammate Porter Martone (12G-13A in 11 GP). Martone continued to enjoy his strong start to his 2024-25 season, as he has now recorded four consecutive multi-point games. His 25 points are one point shy of CHL leaders Michael Misa (Saginaw Spirit) and Liam Greentree (Windsor Spitfires). Calgary Flames prospect Luke Misa (5G-5A in 11 GP) and Seattle Kraken Carson Rehkopf (5G-16A in 11 GP) both drove much of the offense for the Steelheads last week, tallying three points or more in both of Brampton’s games. This week, Brampton will look to regain the form it had to start the season when they welcome the Battalion and Sting for a pair of home games before they travel to North Bay to close out the weekend.
