A late Monday night assault in downtown Saskatoon has four youths facing charges.
According to a news release, the initial call at about 11:20 p.m. Monday night sent officers to the 200 block of 23rd Street East for a report of a group of youths assaulting two females. Shortly after the call, the Air Support Unit (A-S-U) began monitoring from the sky and observed a group of 4-5 people assaulting a person before fleeing the scene. Ground officers were able to find the victim, a female suffering from injuries consistent with an assault. A-S-U directed the ground officers to where the suspects were located, arresting them without further incident. Three females – aged 13, 14 and 15 – along with a 12-year-old male are all facing charges related to assault while an 11-year-old was also arrested, but cannot be charged under the Criminal Code of Canada.
