The Saskatoon Police Service would like to remind motorists to drive with extreme caution. There have been 14 collisions reported since 7 a.m. Wednesday. Four of those involved minor injuries. The fog, freezing drizzle, mixed with wind, has created slick conditions in and around Saskatoon. You are reminded to keep a proper stopping distance between you and the vehicle in front and to keep your speed in accordance to conditions.
It’s cold with high humidity and that means ice. The City of Saskatoon says with the humidity around 95 per cent, the moisture in the air crystallizes on cold pavement and turns to ice. So, 14 sanders are spreading their loads of straight salt on priority streets. The city is also reminding drivers to use caution on the roads, especially when approaching intersections, on bridges, and overpasses, not to mention where roads curve.
