Pierceland RCMP have arrested a 26-year-old man following an aggravated assault.

On November 2 at 3:00 p.m., Pierceland RCMP were called to serious assault that happened at a home on Big Island Lake Cree Territory.

RCMP found a woman at the home who was taken to hospital by EMS with injuries described as non-life threatening.

Officers learned that a physical altercation took place between a man and a woman at the home.

The next day, November 3, RCMP officers arrested Lynden Kahpoonapit on Big Island Lake Cree Territory.

He was scheduled to appear in court today.
