Saskatoon City Council has approved close to 84-million dollars in borrowing.
The biggest item on the list of capital projects is construction of the new Central Library at just over 67.5 million.
Other projects on the 2020 list that require borrowing are:
The Wastewater Facility Upgrade- $2,250,000
The Wastewater Digester Cleaning Facility- up to $810,000
Urban Planning and Development Program Enhancements (from an internal loan amortized over a five year term)- up to $370,000
The North East Sector Reservoir- up to $5,220,000
The Bioreactor Expansion- up to $7,650,000
Council approved a 10% variance for each project meaning if they exceed their budgets by over 10% it has to be reported back to council.
