Returning home worked wonders for the Saskatoon Blades Friday night as the Bridge City Bunch edged the Edmonton Oil Kings 3-2 before a lively crowd of 6,432 fans on Military Appreciation Night at SaskTel Centre.

Tyler Parr (pictured) snapped a 2-2 tie at 6:45 of the third period and the Blue and Gold held on for their seventh win against just one overtime loss on home ice this season. Ben Riche scored the other two goals for the 12-5-2 Blades in the first period while Lukas Sawchyn and Roan Woodward tallied for 8-9-2 Edmonton in the second frame, setting the stage for Parr’s winner in the quickly-played contest. Both teams had 30 shots on goal and both teams are back in action Saturday – the Oil Kings in Prince Albert while Saskatoon hosts the Tri-City Americans at 7 o’clock at SaskTel Centre.
