The 2024 Everest Canadian Curling Club Championships continue today and run through tomorrow in Barrie, Ontario. The fields of 14 women’s teams and 14 men’s teams has been reduced to eight for playoffs in each gender division. The playoffs are a modified double knock-out. Saskatchewan is represented by the Samantha Yachiw foursome from the Saskatoon-Sutherland club on the women’s side. They finished preliminary play with 5 wins, 1 loss…good for 1st place in Pool A. On the men’s side, Saskatchewan is represented by the Aaron Shutra quartet from the Saskatoon-Nutana club. They finished preliminary play with 3 wins, 3 losses…good for 5th place in Pool B, but missed the playoffs. On the schedule today…

The Saskatchewan Rush are finishing up their fourth and final weekend of training camp today with a closed workout session to the public. The Rush will open the 2024-25 National Lacrosse League regular-season on Saturday, November 30th, visiting the Albany Firewolves at 6 p.m. Saskatchewan’s first home game will be Saturday, December 14th against the Halifax Thunderbirds at 7 p.m. at SaskTel Centre.
