Proving once again just how generous Saskatchewan people are, the Saskatoon Media Group Radiothon in support of the Royal University Hospital Foundation has raised $647,100.
CJWW, 92.9 The Bull and 98 Cool broadcast live from RUH on Thursday and Friday for the Ready When You Aren’t Radiothon.
Foundation CEO, Arla Gustafson says the proceeds will go to acquiring the best possible equipment for emergency responses.
She stresses, it’s not because the hospital doesn’t have a wonderful system already but technology changes quickly, and the ability to change practice and programs happens because of donor support.
Each year, the hospital sees 60-thousand patients coming through its emergency room.
Your donations help to support things like trauma care, to improve access to psychiatric care, a provincial colorectal health centre and an epilepsy monitoring unit.
All the money raised during the Radiothon was matched through the estate of philanthropist Bob Steane, the former Chief Operating Officer of Cameco.
Thank You Saskatchewan!
