On December 6th at approximately 6:00 a.m., RCMP received a report of gunshots on Onion Lake Cree Nation.

Police soon received a report of an injured adult male who was brought to a medical centre in Onion Lake. The adult male was pronounced deceased by EMS at the scene.

The victim has been identified as 37-year old Jesse Heathen from Onion Lake. Investigators are releasing his name in an effort to elicit information from the public.
