Gas Buddy reports that the average retail gas price in Saskatoon is down a cent over the past week, averaging at $1.42 per litre on Sunday.
The national average is $1.46, which is 1.1 cent a litre lower than last week. Comparing year to year, prices on Sunday in Saskatoon were 8.7 cents a litre higher than the same day last year, and 0.9 cents a litre lower than a month ago. The average price across the province is down 0.9 cents a litre at $1.44.
Head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy, Patrick De Haan, says, “So long as oil prices continue to be under pressure, Canadians could see more gas price decreases as we head into the final weeks of 2024. Gasoline demand remains quite soft, offsetting OPEC’s decision to delay restoring oil production until spring.”
