There were a couple of power outages affecting customers of Saskatoon Light & Power in various areas of the city yesterday (Wed) afternoon. The first outage lasted six minutes and affected east-central neighbourhoods and the second lasted about 17 minutes and impacted about 35,000 customers across the majority of the west, north and east region under Saskatoon Light & Power’s area.
A news release from the power company says the cause of the power outages was a computer device failure at the Taylor Street Substation. These outages were unrelated to last week’s issues which was a mechanical failure of a switch at a different substation.
