A 35-year-old Saskatoon man faces several charges following a break and enter on Tuesday evening during which a firearm was stolen.
A Saskatoon Police Service news release says officers were called to a residence in the 1600 block of Argyle Avenue at about 6 p.m. on December 10. The initial report said there was a break and enter with police determining that a firearm had been stolen while identifying a person of interest in the investigation. A little more than three hours later, at about 9:15 p.m., officers responded to a report that the person of interest from the earlier break and enter was armed with a firearm in the 1400 block of 22nd Street West. He was arrested without incident upon police arrival. In addition, a search of his person turned up a stolen firearm, a large knife, methamphetamine and miscellaneous property believed to have been stolen during the break and enter. The 35-year-old suspect has been charged with break and enter, possession of a controlled substance and several weapons-related charges – along with being found to be in violation of court-imposed conditions.
