Both suspects of a firearm-related incident and a break-and-enter from October have now been found and arrested.
On October 25th, police received a report of a firearm being discharged during an altercation on Swift Current’s Herbert Street. then, on October 29th, at 6 a.m., RCMP responded to a break-in at a home in the same community. Officers say multiple people entered the home with a firearm and assaulted two occupants inside. The gun wasn’t discharged, but the suspects stole cash and a vehicle which was recovered shortly after.
Nicholas Belanger, one of the two men, was arrested in November in Alberta.
Now, on December 6, the other man, Matthew Neufeld, was arrested on his outstanding warrant from Swift Current Municipal RCMP. Officers located and seized ammunition and other weapons at the time of the arrest.
Neufeld is scheduled to appear in Swift Current Provincial Court on December 18.
