When looking for a car wash in Saskatoon, there is now a new, more environmentally friendly option in the market.
As of December 5th, Orange Carwash has been open at its location at 410 Idylwyld Drive, right behind the Saskatoon Police Station. Nihil Shah says the technology used inside their touchless auto car wash is the first of its kind in the province.
“Our actual system itself is very different. So, we have oscillating nozzles which will spray or any chemical in an oscillating manner. If you go to other washes, it’s just one vertical line of spray.”
He says that this technology allows for a more thorough, faster clean, which also uses less water than the competition.
“For example, at our touchless wash we only use about 43 gallons per vehicle compared to like 60 or 70 gallons on other washes.”
He adds that Orange Car Wash commits itself to several eco-friendly initiatives, such as using recycled water in their operations.
“When our water gets converted to be used for a spot free wash, 75 per cent of the water will get thrown out, and 25 of the water will be used in a spot free…We collect that water and use it to provide an undercarriage wash in both our manual wash and our automatic wash.”
He adds that they only use biodegradable cleaning products, and any sludge or contaminants are safely disposed of.
