Two people were seriously injured in an altercation involving several people around 9 Thursday morning. A news release from the Saskatoon Police Service says officers responded to the rear of a building in the 600 block of 20th Street West after a caller reported someone had been injured. A 39-year-old man was transported by ambulance to Royal University Hospital. From the original investigation, it was reported the altercation involved a machete and a knife.
Later, police attended to St. Paul’s Hospital where a 45-year-old man, also believed to have been at the same altercation, had arrived seeking treatment for serious injuries. The Serious Assault Unit is investigating.
Then, in a separate incident, Saskatoon Police are looking for tips in the investigation of a stabbing and vehicle theft which happened Thursday afternoon around 1:30. Officers responded to a convenience store in the 1500 block of 22nd Street East where a 43-year-old man was found with a non life threatening stab wound. Investigation determined the victim and another male were driving away from that location when the victim stopped the For F 150, got out and sought help for his injury. The suspect fled in the vehicle, and the truck was later located in the 700 block of Idylwyld Drive North.
