A Saskatchewan resident among three people facing charges in Alberta in connection to a robbery involving a firearm at a home in the County of Vermilion River. Kitscoty RCMP say three people in a stolen vehicle broke into a home and stole firearms, but while they were there the property owner arrived at the scene. One of the suspects pointed a gun and then stole the owner’s vehicle.
Thanks to GPS tracking, the vehicle was found at a Lloydminster home and two people were arrested. Twenty-nine-year-old Tanis Nicotine and 21-year-old Lacey Donnally, both from Lloydminster are charged with robbery with a firearm, break and enter with intent, theft under $5,000, and unauthorized possession of a firearm.
There was a warrant for the arrest of 46-year-old Shane Donnally of Hillmond, Saskatchewan, but he was arrested today (Tuesday). He is facing the same charges, along with a few others, including pointing a firearm and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
Cpl. Brian Weisbrod, Operations NCO for the Kitscoty RCMP says when the property owner arrived, the accused could have easily driven away. “but instead, they decided to bring firearms into the equation, turning a property crime into a very serious and traumatizing offence that is not common to this area.”
