Two people from out-of-province and three others were arrested and face charges following a multi-enforcement group raid on a residence in Prince Albert back on Friday.
One of the five people arrested was released without charges. However, 19-year-old Mofe Etchie of Kitchener, Ontario, and 21-year-old Javon Minott of Surrey, B-C, are facing a total of 23 charges related to trafficking a controlled substance as well as a number of firearms offences. In addition, 39-year-old Troy Natewayes has been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking and 38-year-old Sarah Nelson has been charged with a breach of a conditional sentence order.
The Prince Albert Police Service’s Emergency Response Team conducted enforcement action on the group, who were believed to be trafficking cocaine at a residence in the 500 block of 5th Street East. The P-A Crime Reduction Team seized a loaded Glock 9 mm pistol, $9,510 in cash, 290 grams of soft cocaine, 255 grams of crack cocaine, three cell phones, two scales and other paraphernalia consistent with drug trafficking. A photo of the seized items can be found with our on-line story. The PACRT and ERT were assisted, as well, by the Proactive Policing Unit, Saskatchewan Trafficking Response Team and Prince Albert Police Service patrol members.
