A stabbing early Thursday morning in Prince Albert left a man suffering from non-life-threatening injuries while the Prince Albert Police Service (PAPS) arrested three people, two of whom are facing charges, in connection to the incident.
A PAPS news release says that at about 1:30 a.m. on January 23, officers were sent to the 500 block of 28th Street East for an injured person that dispatch advised was a cab driver who had been stabbed. Paramedics arrived shortly after police did, taking the man to hospital. Officers were able to obtain video surveillance and found that two males and a female were given a ride, only to have one of the males assault the cab driver with a knife and rob him. The Prince Albert Police Canine Unit was deployed in the area of 28th Street West and 4th Avenue East where officers located a 31-year-old man and 30-year-old woman on a robbery investigation. The man was arrested and charged with obstructing police. Later, at about 9:15 a.m., a second 31-year-old man involved in the early morning stabbing incident was located and arrested by officers responding to a separate call. He is facing charges related to robbery, aggravated assault and disguise with intent. He is scheduled to appear in court Friday morning.
