The Saskatoon Police Service says its officers were involved in two evade police incidents on the weekend. Around 12:30 a.m. Saturday patrol officers located a stolen vehicle in a gas station parking lot at Broadway Avenue and Taylor Street.
Upon seeing Police, the suspects fled and began driving erratically. A tire deflation device was deployed, and officers located the vehicle abandoned in the 300 block of Avenue Q South, where it had struck a parked car. Three suspects fled the vehicle and have not been tracked down.
And early Sunday morning around 2:10 a.m. Patrol officers spotted a stolen black Audi near Pearson Place and Diefenbaker Drive. The previous day the suspect vehicle had refused to stop for police, so a high-risk traffic stop was conducted, and three males were arrested from the vehicle. Police say the driver provided a different persons’ identification prior to officers confirming his identity. No weapons were located but the driver, an 18-year-old man from Cambridge, Ontario, was found to be breaching several of his court-imposed conditions and is now facing a number of charges.
