The U-of-S Huskies all-time leader in women’s scoring is being inducted into the Canada West Hall of Fame.
Breanne George recorded 81 goals and 144 points during her Huskies career and was a Canada West MVP in 2009-10 with a conference leading 28 goals and 46 points.
George was named to three Canada West All-Star teams and was a two-time first-team All-Canadian.
She also scored seven goals and 12 points in seven games for Canada’s Gold-Medal winning team at the 2011 Winter University Games in Turkey. Following is the news release from the Canada West Conference and Huskie Athletics…

EDMONTON – Saskatchewan women’s hockey star Breanne George is not only the Huskies’ all-time leader in goals with 81 and points with 144, she’s among the most prolific scorers in Canada West history.
The Huskie great was announced Tuesday as the latest inductee in the Canada West Hall of Fame, as the march towards 100 inductees to honour 100 years of university sport continues.
George was Canada West MVP during the 2009-10 season, when she led the conference with 28 goals and 46 points. The Saskatoon native was also a three-time Canada West All-Star and a First Team All-Canadian in 2010 and 2011. As of 2020, her 81 career goals sits third all-time in the conference record book.
In 2011, George was selected to represent Canada at the FISU Winter University Games in Turkey, where she racked up seven goals and 12 points in seven games to help her nation capture women’s hockey gold.
