When it looked like one goaltender was going to steal a result on Sunday, the netminder at the other end of the ice made the biggest saves at the end of the game, giving the Saskatoon Blades a 3-2 victory over the Moose Jaw Warriors.

Evan Gardner (pictured) made three point-blank stops in the final 15 seconds of the third period to save the Bridge City Bunch’s 25th victory of the season. The 18-year-old Columbus Blue Jackets’ second round draft pick only faced 21 shots while Josh Banini stopped 34 of 37 shots for Moose Jaw, who lost their fifth consecutive road game and fell to 11-32-6 for the season. The Blue and Gold were eventually able to solve Banini for goals by Zach Olsen and Hunter Laing in the third period as the Blades won for the fifth time this season when trailing after 40 minutes. Grayden Siepmann notched the other goal for Saskatoon, now 25-16-6 for the season – two points behind East Division-leading Prince Albert and two points ahead of the Wheat Kings with the Bridge City Bunch going to Brandon for their next game on Friday.
