The Saskatoon Blades followed up a strong, beginning to end overtime victory Friday in Brandon with a solid opening 40 minutes Saturday, then held on for a 5-3 victory over the visiting Regina Pats.

Tanner Scott (pictured) opened the scoring and potted the eventual winning goal for the 27-16-6 Bridge City Bunch as they extended their winning streak to four games and remained tied for first place in the W-H-L’s East Division with Prince Albert. Hayden Harsanyi also tallied twice for the Blue and Gold while Kazden Mathies potted a goal and added an assist. Scott, Harsanyi and Mathies are all newcomers to the Blades since the Christmas break. The offence from the trio provided Saskatoon with a 5-1 lead after two periods before the 14-30-6 Pats scored twice in 53 seconds early in the third period to put a scare into the Bridge City Bunch before 4,245 fans. The five goals was the first time the Blue and Gold scored five in a game since a December 28, 5-2 victory in Regina. Saskatoon starts a week of four games against teams all occupying a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference when they welcome former Blades Tanner Molendyk and Misha Volotovskii along with the rest of the Conference-leading Medicine Hat Tigers at SaskTel Centre on Tuesday.
