A police traffic stop in a gas station parking lot at 8th Street and Cumberland has led to weapons charges against two people.
Officers spotted a suspicious vehicle around 2:30am Tuesday and spoke to three people inside. A police news release says a drug pipe was spotted and a subsequent search netted a sawed-off shotgun and ammunition inside a duffel base. One of the individuals was also wearing a ballistic vest.
A 29-year-old man faces five firearms-related offenses, while a 48-year-old woman is charged with unauthorized possession of a prohibited firearm.
