The Saskatoon Fire Department responded to 3 fires this morning (Wed), all within about an hour-and-a-half. At 9:15, fire fighters responded to a house fire at 317 Avenue P South, and upon arrival found smoke coming from the rear of the home. It turned out to be a small fire in an unused coal chute which was quickly put out.
The second fire was from a home in the next block at 333 Avenue Q South. The lone occupant had gotten out safely before the Fire Department arrived. Flames were seen venting from the rear entrance. The fire which seems to have originated in the kitchen was quickly brought under control and extinguished.
The third fire was called in around 10:50 this morning. A garage and garbage dumpster fire at 206 Avenue E South which was quickly put out. All 3 incidents are under investigation and the cause and damage estimates are pending.
