A plea was expected in Saskatoon Provincial Court today for the 14-year-old girl charged with setting a 15-year-old girl on fire at Evan Hardy Collegiate in September, but the plea didn’t happen. Instead, the next court date is February 21st and it’s expected trial dates will be discussed then.
The 14-year-old is charged with attempted murder, arson and aggravated assault, and separately she is charged with unlawfully causing bodily harm when a teacher was injured while trying to put out the flames. Back in September, the judge ordered an NCR assessment, a not criminally responsible assessment on the girl at the request of the defence, but the results of the assessment haven’t been heard in court. The teen is still in custody.
