With the recent spur of spring-like temperatures, the City of Saskatoon is preparing for large amounts of snow melt to make its way through the drainage system.
Crews are clearing snow and ice from priority drainage routes and known problem areas to prevent localized flooding.
Residents can help out by clearing catch basins that appear to be blocked by snow or ice or reporting it to the Customer Care Centre if they can’t do it themselves.
The public can also expect standing water to appear, especially in areas with a lot of snow. Crews will be inspecting these areas and addressing the situation as necessary.
