The number of influenza cases was higher in the two-week period ending February 22nd.
Statistics from the Saskatchewan Ministry of Health indicate 130 people were admitted to hospital and 15 to the intensive care unit (ICU). That compares to 98 influenza hospitalizations during the previous two-week period.
COVID-19 numbers were steady with 21 hospitalizations, including five in the ICU.
The cold-like RSV (Respiratory syncytial virus) saw 58 hospitalizations with four admitted to intensive care over the two-week period
There were no deaths from COVID or influenza in Saskatchewan between February 9th to February 22nd.
Only one in five Saskatchewan residents have their influenza vaccination.
