A health-care union wants the provincial government to address staffing shortages in the March 19th budget.
Representatives with CUPE 5430 met with Health Minister Jeremy Cockrill on Tuesday. They pointed to recent service disruptions at healthcare facilities in Lloydminster, North Battleford, Hafford, Redvers, Oxbow and Kipling.
The union also asked Cockrill to tell the Saskatchewan Association of Health Organizations (SAHO) to speed up the contract bargaining process. The union, which represents over 14,000 healthcare providers, has been without a contract for nearly two years.
