The City of Martensillve has approved its 2025 Operating and Capital Budgets, which includes a $7.64 monthly property tax increase for the average homeowner.
Factors that play into the slight property tax uptick include the opening of the Martensville Recreation Centre and new staffing requests to maintain and enhance existing City services.
Residents will also notice a $10 per year increase to their garbage and recycling fee, and a 4.6 per cent increase to the consumption charge for water usage. The City attributes these charges to rate increases from the providers.
When it comes to expenditures in 2025, Martensville aims to invest over $7.3 million in new capital projects such as water and wastewater upgrades, roadway repairs and rehabilitation, civic facility condition assessments and upgrades, a new pool liner at the Martensville Aquatic Centre, and a city-wide Drainage Master Plan.
