Saskatoon-based uranium company Cameco is reporting what it calls a strong finish to 2019 and growing optimism this year. President and CEO Tim Gitzel says the company delivered 14 million pounds of uranium in the fourth quarter and in 2019, generated $527 million in cash from operations. Net earnings for 2019 came to $74 million with adjusted net earnings of $41 million. Gitzel says their optimism comes from the fact that uranium demand is going up and supply is coming down. Gitzel also says, Cameco has a vision to energize a clean air world which aligns with the world’s growing demand for energy, while helping to avoid some of the worst consequences of climate change.
