The Prince Albert Police Service is asking for members of the public in the area surrounding the 500 block of 12th Street East to check any camera footage following an aggravated assault on Wednesday.

Around 12:30 p.m. Wednesday police were called to a business in the 1300 block of 6th Avenue East for a report of an injured person. Officers quickly arrived and located a female with serious injuries consistent with a stabbing; she was taken to hospital by Parkland Ambulance for further treatment.

Further investigation led officers to a home in the 500 block of 12th Street East where it is believed the assault occurred. There have been no arrests, but investigators believe the suspect and victim are known to each other.

Anyone with video surveillance that may be relevant are asked to report it to police or submit it anonymously to Crime Stoppers.
