Statistics from the Saskatchewan Ministry of Health’s Community Respiratory Illness Surveillance Program show there were more confirmed cases of influenza and fewer COVID cases between February 23rd and March 8th.
Fifteen people were admitted to hospital with COVID and two received treatment in the ICU (intensive care unit). There were 22 COVID cases requiring hospitalization and five admitted to ICU in the previous two-week period. The number of influenza cases requiring a hospital admission was 203—well above the 149 recorded previously. ICU admissions for influenza were 26—up from 15.
