RCMP say charges against Kenward Strongquill in connection to an accident involving four pedestrians have been stayed and updated charges have been introduced.
On August 24, 2024, at approximately 2:55 p.m., Kamsack RCMP received a report of a collision involving four pedestrians, three children and one adult, on Key First Nation, SK. A 12-year-old girl died at the scene. Two other girls, both under age 12, were taken to hospital with serious injuries while a man reported non-life-threatening injuries to police.
The accused, a 62-year-old resident of Keeseekoose First Nation is now charged one count each manslaughter, dangerous operation of a conveyance causing death, operation while impaired of motor vehicle causing death, operation while impaired causing bodily harm and three counts dangerous operation of a conveyance causing bodily harm. Strongquill has been remanded in custody since his arrest last August and appeared in court on the new charges Monday.
