A 28-year-old Saskatoon man has been arrested and charged with failure to remain at the scene of an accident causing bodily harm following a hit and run involving a pedestrian Wednesday night on 8th Street East.
A Saskatoon Police Service news release says officers were called to the 1300 block of 8th Street East at around 8:45 p.m. on March 19. The report told police that a pedestrian had been hit by a vehicle in a parking lot. When officers arrived on the scene, they were informed that an altercation had taken place between parties known to one another and that one of the parties sped away in a vehicle, striking the other involved party while doing so. The victim was transported to hospital by Medavie Health Services with what were believed to be non-life-threatening injuries. Police continued to investigate and eventually ended up at an address in the 100 block of Hedley Street where they arrested the suspect.
