Prairie Women on Snowmobiles raised a total of $98,272.12 for cancer research during this year’s ride.
Prairie Women on Snowmobiles kicked off their tour February 2nd in Humboldt with visits to communities including Moose Jaw, Craven, Tisdale and Outlook.
The group of nine riders began their trip last Sunday in Humboldt before finishing their 20th anniversary trek in Warman Friday night.
Each rider had to raise a minimum of three thousand dollars in order to get onto the ride.
President of the organization Kelly Rea says those who attended one of the fundraising events along the tour had a chance to not only hear the women’s stories but it was a chance to learn about other people’s experiences with breast cancer.
Rea says they honour the people who have survived, giving them a sense that they are not alone. And, she says, it helps the people who are on that journey now know that they are not alone.
