The Saskatoon Police Service says patrol officers spotted a stolen truck around 12:45 a.m. Tuesday at 23rd Street East and 3rd Avenue North. Before officers could attempt a traffic stop police say the driver sped off.
A tire deflation device was successfully deployed and the suspect vehicle was abandoned in the 1700 block of Avenue G North. Two people fled with one suspect arrested nearby following a brief struggle. Police say he appeared to be under the influence of an intoxicant. The second suspect was located and arrested in a nearby backyard, attempting to hide from officers. The driver was arrested near the vehicle without incident.
Upon searching the vehicle, Police located and seized a bag of methamphetamine and a scale.
A 26-year-old Saskatoon woman is charged with Dangerous Driving and Evading Police. A 19-year-old North Battleford man is charged with Trespassing at Night and Breach of Probation. An 18-year-old man from Poundmaker Cree Nation is charged with Public Intoxication.
