Four people are facing firearm-related charges following a traffic stop in Saskatoon Sunday night. A news release from the Police Service says around 10:30 p.m., Patrol officers noticed a suspicious vehicle and conducted a traffic stop near 22nd Street West and Diefenbaker Drive. Police say a passenger in the back was trying to conceal a gun. All four in the vehicle were arrested. Officers seized a rifle and ammunition, two machetes, bear spray and brass knuckles from inside the vehicle.
A 17-year-old boy from Prince Albert is facing six firearm-related offences in addition to carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a prohibited weapon and breach of release. A 27-year-old Saskatoon man is facing eight charges including possession of a prohibited weapon, possession of a dangerous weapon, carrying a concealed weapon and breach of release. A 23-year-old Saskatoon woman is charged with unauthorized possession of a firearm in a vehicle and a 23-year-old Sturgeon Lake First Nation woman is charged with possession of a dangerous weapon and carrying a concealed weapon.
