The province says that Saskatchewan produced a record amount of gold in 2019. We have only one active mine – the Seabee operation about 125 kilometres northeast of La Ronge. The mine produced 112,137 ounces last year. That was a 17 per cent production increase over the year before; the fourth consecutive year that Seabee has set a new record for gold production in the province.
The province say that Saskatchewan’s diverse geology and mineral deposits, along with the stable regulatory environment and targeted mineral exploration incentives, have created an attractive location for local and international mining companies.
Last February, the Fraser Institute ranked Saskatchewan as the world’s third most attractive jurisdiction for mining investment. On the issue of policy attractiveness alone, Saskatchewan was the top-ranked jurisdiction globally.
