Churchill RCMP in Manitoba say they were called out to a report of man who had been shot and was suffering from exposure on Cape Merry Road in Churchill.

The 29 year old man told officers he was out trapping when he was shot by someone on a snowmobile and believed they may have mistaken him for an animal. He then walked one to two days to get back to Churchill for help.

The RCMP is hoping to track down who shot the trapper and the trapper is recovering in hospital.
