Police are investigating after a dog was shot with a firearm in Regina.  

 At 8:10 a.m. on Wednesday, officers were called to a house in the 1500 Block of Athol Street for the report of a theft of two dogs. The stolen dogs were believed to be being housed at this location. 

 Police were speaking with a person outside the home, when two dogs ran out the front door towards them. 

 One officer shot the dog, and first aid was administered on scene before the dog was taken to a vet clinic. 

 The Use of Force Review Board will continue to investigate.
