The Mohyla lecture is one of the premier events at the University of Saskatchewan presented by the Prairie Centre for the Study of Ukrainian Heritage in partnership with the Ukrainian Canadian Congress Saskatchewan and SaskCulture.
Professor of political studies at Saskatoon’s St. Thomas More College, Dr. Bohdan Kodan says the issue of military involvement by Russia in Donbas, Ukraine is a geo-political question, a strategic question, it’s of interest, certainly, to both Ukraine and Russia but also partners in Europe as well. He notes that it complicates Russia’s relationship with the European Union as well as the United States.
The college is hosting Dr. Dominique Arel, Professor and Chair of Ukrainian Studies at the University of Ottawa who will discuss the Donbas War on Thursday evening, 7 pm in the Shannon Library at St. Thomas More College. Dr. Kodan says ultimately the issue is how is this conflict going to be resolved.
