Stolen Vehicle and Stolen Licence Plate
Around 1:30 Friday morning patrol officers responding to a break and enter on the 16 hundred block of Avenue C North, noticed a suspicious vehicle leaving the area. When they tried to stop it, the driver sped off, driving erratically. Police found the abandoned vehicle in the area of 33rd Street and Quebec Avenue and spotted two people walking a short distance away. One was recognized as the driver. Both were arrested. Police determined that the vehicle and licence plate had been stolen. A 28 year old man is facing numerous charges including Evade Police and Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle. The 27 year old woman is charged with Possession of Stolen Property.
Suspect Arrested in Back Yard
Saskatoon Police say, around 1 a.m. Friday morning, traffic officers spotted a car which had been stolen the evening before from Borden Place. The driver didn’t pull over for police however the Air Support Unit led patrol officers to the 26-hundred block of 37th Street West where they say the driver abandoned the vehicle and took off on foot. A suspect was tracked down hiding in a backyard in the 300 block of Denham Court. A 18 year old Saskatoon man is facing charges of Theft of a Motor Vehicle, Evade Police and was also wanted on outstanding warrants from La Loche.
Meth and Firearm Seizure
The Saskatoon Police Guns and Gangs Unit executed a search warrant around 11 o’clock Thursday morning at a residence on the 200 block of Montreal Avenue South. They allege finding just under a gram of methamphetamine; a loaded, modified .22 calibre rifle; and a variety of stolen identification. A further search of a 24 year old man turned up eight more grams of meth. He is facing charges of drug possession and Breach of Probation. He was also wanted on warrants. A 25 year old man is facing charges of Breach of Court Conditions, Possession of Stolen Property with respect to the IDs, and firearms related offences.
