Calder Jones of the Viscount 4-H Beef Club exhibited the Grand Champion Steer, which sold for a winning bid of $6.10 a pound to Manitou Mainline in Watrous, Integra Tire and Headacres.
The Reserve Grand Champion Steer was shown by Caybri Letkemen of the Crown Hill 4-H Beef Club. Her steer sold for $6 a pound to New Vision Agro in Hague.
Sixty-one steers were sold on Monday evening with an average sale price of $5.24 a pound.
The Champion and Reserve Champion market lambs were auctioned as well. The Grand Champion, exhibited by Sophie Bernauer of the Carlton Trail 4-H Club, fetched a winning bid of $1,500 from the Watrous Animal Hospital. The Reserve Champion market lamb was exhibited by Kash Nordick, also with the Carlton Trail 4-H Club. It was purchased for $1,300 by Twin Creek Stock Farms.
The Prairieland Junior Ag Showcase featured beef, sheep and light horse competitions. All the results are listed below:
