Gun reported near mall
The Saskatoon Police Service says officers responded at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday to a report of a woman brandishing a firearm outside of a mall in the 200 block of 1st Avenue South.
Police located a suspect in the alley in the 100 block of 2nd Avenue South.
In a news release police say the suspect was in possession of an imitation firearm. A 20-year-old woman is charged with Possession of a Weapon for Purpose of Committing an Offence.
Weapons Complaint
The Saskatoon Police Service says officers were dispatched to a weapon related complaint around 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday in the 10 block of King Street.
They had received a report that a man sleeping had a firearm next to him.
Police located the individual in question who was now awake and sitting near the train tracks. A firearm was located nearby which was determined to be an air pistol. In a news release police say he also had an outstanding warrant.
A 30-year-old-man is charged with Possession of a Dangerous Weapon.
Evade Police
Around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday night Saskatoon police tried to pull over a truck that was driving erratically near Spadina Crescent West and 17th Street West. Despite emergency equipment being activated, they say the driver refused to stop.
The vehicle and driver however were tracked to a home in the 100 block of Flynn Manor in Saskatoon’s Rosewood neighbourhood.
In a news release the Saskatoon Police Service says officers saw open alcohol in the vehicle which led to an impaired driving investigation. A 42-year-old man was taken into custody at which time it was determined he was prohibited from driving. Consequently, he faces charges of Impaired Driving, exceed 0.08, Evade Police and Prohibited Driving.
