Armed robberies, two in custody
The Saskatoon Police Service says two Saskatoon men have been charged in connection to two armed robberies in the city Sunday.
Around 10 a.m. police were called to a liquor store at Warman Road and Assiniboine Driver after two men entered the story with what was believed to be a weapon, stole some items and fled in a green Bronco. As the officers were investigating, a second robbery report came in from a gas station in the 800 block of 22nd Street West.
Staff at the gas station said two men entered the story, threatened with a firearm, stole some items and fled in a green Ford Bronco. A short while later a patrol officer located a vehicle matching the description outside an apartment building in the 200 block of Avenue V South.
After some negotiation with the Tactical Support Unit and Canine Unit assisting, the suspects came out of the apartment building. The Ford Bronco was found to be stolen, and further charges are pending. Both men are facing charges of Armed Robbery. The 32-year-old is also facing charges of wearing a disguise, possession of a firearm and had outstanding warrants of arrest.
