Dominik Petr (pictured) broke a 2-2 tie with a goal on a penalty shot as the Saskatoon Blades recorded a 4-2 pre-season victory in Moose Jaw Friday over the Warriors.

The teams exchanged two-goal outbursts with the Bridge City Bunch scoring the game’s final two goals. Petr’s winner came with 9:17 remaining in the third period after Moose Jaw had battled back to draw even after falling behind 2-0. The 20-year-old Czechia product, acquired from Brandon during the Prospects Draft in May for a fourth round selection, was hauled down from behind on a breakaway and, subsequently, made the Warriors pay by beating goaltender Matthew Hutchison between the legs with a shot along the ice. Hayden Harsanyi and Kazden Mathies staked the Blue and Gold to the 2-0 lead after two periods. Colten Worthington capped the scoring into an empty net with a dozen seconds remaining. Despite being out-shot 10-6 in the opening period, the Blades wound up with a 35-28 edge on the shot clock. Assured of a winning record in the pre-season, Saskatoon finishes off their exhibition slate on Saturday when they are designated as the home team against Moose Jaw for a 7 o’clock first faceoff in Martensville.
