A 32-year-old woman and a young girl are facing a combined total of 22 charges following a flight from police incident on Big Island Lake Cree Nation.
On Sunday, Pierceland RCMP received a report of wanted individuals driving past the security checkpoint on the Cree Nation.
Officers attempted a traffic stop, which was unsuccessful, and were forced to use a tire deflation device on the vehicle.
Officers were able to recover a sawed-off firearm from inside the vehicle, and two female occupants were arrested.
Tamarah Dillon from Onion Lake First Nation and a female youth from Big Island Lake Cree Nation face numerous charges. The youth appeared in court on Tuesday, and Tamarah is scheduled to appear on October 7th.
