Four people were arrested and charged following a stabbing incident on Saturday afternoon east of the South Saskatchewan River in Saskatoon.
According to a Saskatoon Police Service news release, officers were called to an establishment in the 1300 block of 8th Street East for a report of an injured person. A man was taken to hospital with a stab wound, to be treated for a non-life-threatening injury. Police soon learned that four people assaulted the victim and fled the scene in a vehicle. That vehicle was found by officers, unoccupied, in the 3300 block of Confederation Drive. Shortly thereafter, police saw a group of people matching the suspect descriptions walking in the area of Fairlight Drive and Fairmont Drive and arrested them without incident. A 40-year-old man faces a charge of aggravated assault and two counts of failure to comply with court-ordered conditions. A 38-year-old woman was charged with possession of a dangerous weapon to public peace – namely bear spray – as well as unauthorized carry of a concealed weapon, fraudulent personation and failure to comply with court-ordered conditions. Plus – two, 23-year-old men were charged with failure to comply with court-ordered conditions.
